Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development PAS

“Village and Agriculture” (Polish: “Wieś i Rolnictwo”) is a Polish quarterly journal published by Institute of Rural and Agricultural Development of Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN) located in Warsaw. The journal has started being published since 1971, and is the only interdisciplinary journal in Poland entirely devoted to development of rural areas. The journal contains articles on rural economics, rural policy, rural sociology, rural culture, demography in rural areas and the sociology of education, to name only a few fields of its interest. The main language is Polish but also article in English are welcomed to be published.
WiR is placed within the highest ranked category of Polish journals. Its contents is divided into four main sections: 1) Studies and Analyses, 2) Projects’ Results, 3) Reviews and Discussions, and 4) Chronicle. Occasionally, there are also sponsored articles in it.

The Editorial Board of the journal includes: Prof. Jan Górecki (Editor in Chief), Dr Mirosław Drygas (Deputy Editor), Prof. Leszek Klank, Dr Barbara Fedyszak-Radziejowska, Prof. Krystyna Gutkowska, Prof. Maria Halamska, Prof. Andrzej Rosner, Prof. Jerzy Wilkin, Prof. Katarzyna Zawalińska. The secretary of the journal is Ewa Ramus. 

WiR has also an international Programme Board which includes scientists from Germany, UK, Finland, France and Japan.
